Origin
In 1800 century the Silky Terrier evolved in Australia. The Silky Terrier was generally not created for hunting or herd purposes. They proved to be great companions over years. Various terriers were mixed to create this breed. Skye, Cairn, Yorkshire Terriers etc were amongst them. During the second world war this dog was taken to United States by a soldier and after 14 years this breed was introduced by the American Kennel Club.

General Description

The Silky Terrier is a cute looking small dog about 10 inches in height. They have a small physique and a cute expression. Their head is small and round in shape and they have a small round muzzle with a red nose at the tip. Their eyes are big and round and brown in colour. The Silky Terrier have small ears which stand straight on their head. They have beard on their face and a small neck. The fur on their body is such that they look like a small cotton ball. The Silky Terrier have small limbs and legs and padded paws. They have a docked tail and a broad chest. The Silky Terrier has long coat and the fur is such that it hangs from their face, legs and whole body. They are found in tan, blue and red colours.
